INTERNSHIPS

Your internship is not just part of your time at WMI, it is at the core of the experience.

You’ll work at least 32-hours per week at one of DC’s top media organizations. We find the perfect internship for your experience level and ambition, and guarantee all of our students an internship placement.

  • Full-time

You’ll be at your internship Monday through Thursday, 9-5pm. That means your work experience will drive your time here in DC and allow you to leave with a stuffed portfolio.

  • Guaranteed Internship Placement

We guarantee you an internship while you’re in Washington, DC.

  • Variety of internship options

DC is the internship capital of the world and a hub for media. Many of our students intern with policy organizations and many of our students don’t – it all depends on your interests.

  • Internships that provide experience

Internships are a place to learn, not to get coffee – and we make sure that’s the experience you have at your internship.

  • Resume help

We edit and help you tailor your resume to ensure you put your best foot forward with organizations you’d like to work with.

  • Interview prep

You’ll still have to interview to get the internship, but we make sure you’re ready with one-on-one coaching leading up to the call.

  • Personalized placement

Because of our extensive network, we find not just a good internship but the right internship.

  • WMI supervised

Every internship is overseen by WMI, so if there’s an issue, we are here to help, pulling you out and placing you elsewhere in the extremely rare cases where that is needed.

  • Earn credit for your internship

You’ll be gaining real world experience and earning credit to take back to your university.

At WMI, we work tirelessly to develop the best opportunities for you. We have great internship sites that have come to rely on the quality interns we have sent over year after year.  Here are just a few of the companies our students have worked with.
